St. Augustine writes about this restlessness that all humans experience. This restlessness is calmed only in the presence of God. That’s a bold claim for him to make, but it is absolutely true.
All of us are searching for something, whether it is a big job, big house, big car, big wife…wait, that’s not right. We are all on this journey to find something great, but really, we are on this journey to find someone great. Christians believe that all of humanity craves the presence of God. We like to call it a yearning or desire. Our hearts long for God.
In order to get on the right track, we have to first recognize that we have to follow God and go after the things of his heart. The early Christians weren’t called Christians until later in the game. They were first called followers.
The right track is following Christ.
